Sandwich Marina, MA – Cape Cod Canal

Captain Dave at the helm

Yesterday took a bit longer than expected but we were able to make Cape Cod Canal last night just before the slack ebb began.  We opted to tie up in Sandwich Marina for the night and set out this morning.  The primary reason was, we needed to top off the fuel tank and we needed to recharge our phones.

Some lessons learned from this experience is that we need to turn off our phones when not in use to conserve energy.

Another disappointment was that we either had no wind yesterday or we were heading directly into the wind and couldn’t use the wind so we motored the entire way.

Today we have good wind from the east so I hope we will get some actual sailing in.  The objective is to make Turtle Island by evening.
