The first story in a trilogy of adventures, Voyage of the Argo is a film about two brothers, David and Stephen Taylor, exploring Americas waterways, wetlands and discovering the history and culture of the Atlantic east coast.
Two brothers, raised 22 years apart, in the same household but in different worlds. United by a singular odyssey and a shared vision.
Departing from Alexandria Maryland aboard the Argo, a 27 ft sailboat fitted with an electric engine, we travel 1,200 miles down the ICW to Key West Florida, examining the environmental conditions of the wetlands and waterways of the east coast. We also discover and document the local history and culture of the ports of call along the way. Ending with Florida’s annual celebration of Pirates in Paradise and living history demonstrations of pirate battles of the late 1800’s.
The 4 main pillars of this documentary are:
- A compelling story about two brothers that become united by a common goal.
- Exploring the environmental condition of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway and the Wetlands along the Atlantic coast.
- Discovering new cities and examine the history and culture of the American East Coast.
- Staring in the Pirates in Paradise Festival in a pirate ship battle. The Argo will fire it’s cannon in a broadside attack on the High Tide, a 33ft Sloop. Then we reenact living history demonstrations of the pirate attack on Fort Taylor in Key West Fl.
