Quartermaster’s log day 7, 9th June 2014
We got a lot done today, more than enough to make up for the slow days yesterday and the day before.
I got a baseline budget done today and after a few tweaks I should be able to post that in the budget section of our site. I was able to keep it pretty basic but I think what I have all the equipment there I need to make a video that’s easily better than the ones Dave and I have seen on YouTube.
It’s important to me that the final documentary is of the best possible quality that we can afford.
We also were able to contact a couple of marinas in Key West to inquire about slip space. One of them has a hotel next to the slips. If we can raise enough money I would like to be able to rent a room at the hotel for our biggest investor who would then have a chance to join us for nightly dinners and daily adventure while we shoot the final scenes of The Gemini Project.
In another investor incentives related note, we ordered our logbooks today. When they get in we’ll get an embossing kit and personalize each log.
Don’t worry, that’s going to be a fun project, so I’ll be sure to take some pictures for the blog so you all can see the future memorabilia being made.
We finalized the design of our business cards today also. We should be ordering those in a day or two so they’ll come in time for the Kickstarter launch. While they don’t have the address of the Kickstarter page on them, they do have the project website address. Since the website has a big fat link to the former, it will be important to hand out as many of those as possible.
Well that’s all for today, I leave you with well wishes and today’s quote.
‘The traveler was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes ‘sight-seeing.”
